Keylor Navas will not join Monza on a free transfer after a deal collapsed at the final hurdle, after medicals had already been scheduled.

Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Tuesday that the 37-year-old Costa Rican shot stopper was ready to fly to Italy to join the Biancorossi after agreeing a move, having medical tests booked for later this week.

Keylor Navas is currently a free agent after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expired at the start of this month. A three-time Champions League winner with Real Madrid, the veteran goalkeeper retired from his national team earlier this year, having made a historic 114 caps.

Di Marzio now reports that Keylor Navas’ move to Monza has collapsed at the final hurdle, with there being no final agreement between the two parties. His medicals were scheduled and then postponed but talks ultimately fell through.

The Biancorossi are now considering the idea of picking up former Roma goalkeeper Rui Patricio, appreciating his experience and reliability.
