Here are the key takeaways from Massimiliano Allegri’s post-match press conference after a 1-0 win over Lazio, including ‘Salernitana are a direct opponent for Juventus.’

The Bianconeri boss spoke to the media after the match at a press conference attended by Football Italia at the Allianz Stadium.

Allegri looked furious when Angel Di Maria didn’t hold the ball in the final minutes of the match, losing possession and allowing Lazio to create a new chance for the equaliser.

“In those moments, you must understand the game and the ball must be handled differently,” explained the coach.

Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa started their first game together at Juventus. The Serbia international joined the Bianconeri one year ago, weeks after Chiesa’s anterior cruciate ligament injury in Rome.

“I think they did well and I didn’t think they could do so well. Federico was tidy and put in a good performance, like Vlahovic. They did good things and I am happy.”

Juventus are currently 15 points below a Champions League spot following a points deduction, who are the favourites to finish in the top four?

“I think Inter won’t have problems, Milan, Roma, Lazio and Atalanta have a 25% chance each. Lazio play well, if they have space, they are difficult to face.”

Juventus will face Salernitana away in the next Serie A match on Tuesday. Last week, they lost 2-0 at home against Monza in Turin.

“The first half with Monza was not good, had we scored in the second half, the game would have been different, but this is football and must be accepted. Now we must be ready for Salerno. They [Salernitana] are a direct opponent, they have 21 points, we have 23.”
