Inter are seriously interested in bringing Franck Kessie back to Serie A and the Barcelona midfielder suggested he was ‘happy’ to hear these reports.

Reports from Spain detail how the Nerazzurri are considering offering Marcelo Brozovic to the Blaugrana in exchange for the Ivorian midfielder, who grew into a top player during his time with intercity rivals Milan.

Kessie joined Barcelona on a free transfer last summer and initially struggled to show his best in Catalonia, but has started to receive more regular minutes in recent weeks.

Speaking via Calciomercato.com, Kessie responded to the interest from Inter and touched on his plans for the future.

“When your name comes up in a country where you’ve done well, it means you’ve left a good memory.

“I’m happy, there were many teams that wanted me, but now I am a Barcelona player, I signed a four-year contract, I like the city and I have a great relationship with teammates and coach. I arrived last summer, and I see myself here for many years.”

The 26-year-old Ivorian midfielder then spoke about how it felt to be playing with more consistency in recent weeks.

“This is my best moment of the season. Every player wants to play and when you do you feel very happy. When you play, you have to give everything for the team, from the first to the last minute and that’s what I try to do.”

This season, Kessie has made 30 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona, for a total of 1320 minutes. In that time, he’s scored two goals and provided three assists.
