The Rossoneri thought luck had abandoned them when rattling the frame of the goal four times, but Theo Hernandez completed the first brace of his career in stoppages to hold Parma 2-2.
“We are not satisfied with this point, as we wanted to win and fought to the very end,” Kessie told Sky Sport Italia and Milan TV.
“It was important not to lose, especially on a night like this when everything seemed to go wrong, but we did very well to react.
“It’s good that we never give in and we wanted to keep going after the equaliser to win it.”
Kessie has become a stalwart of the Milan midfield, a far cry from last year when there were rumours he would leave.
“What happened was that a new coach arrived and some new players,” he replied when asked what had changed.
“The coach created a great unity within the group. I never wanted to leave and nobody at the club asked me to leave. I am here, I have a contract and I want to see it out to the end. I am happy at Milan and we want to win something important.”
