Chelsea have reportedly reached an agreement with Chicago Fire for Gabriel Slonina, allowing them to send Kepa Arrizabalaga to Napoli.

The Partenopei are still looking for a new goalkeeper following the departure of David Ospina earlier this month. Alex Meret has looked a little unconvincing in the pre-season and Napoli are looking for an alternative to give Luciano Spalletti a little flexibility.

As highlighted by Calciomercato.com, Chelsea are closing in on a deal for 18-year-old American talent Slonina, and they’re set to pay Chicago Fire around €15m in total for the teenager. Real Madrid were also keen to sign the goalkeeper but they’ve seemingly lost out to the Premier League side.

Once they’ve completed this deal, they’ll be able to send Kepa to Napoli on loan. The Campania side are reportedly willing to pay around €2.5m of his salary and a buy option will be set at around €20m. The Spaniard has given his approval to the move following a publicly difficult few years in West London.
