According to reports, Kepa Arrizabalaga’s agent has landed in Italy to negotiate the final details of the Chelsea goalkeeper’s move to Napoli, as now it’s about the bonuses.

RAI Sport claim that Kepa’s representative arrived in Milan today for face-to-face talks with Napoli directors.

Chelsea have agreed to pay almost 70 per cent of his salary during the loan period, so the €9m per season wages are not going to be an issue.

The debate now is over the performance-related bonuses that Chelsea want the Partenopei to cover.

Sky Sport Italia suggest the request is for Napoli to pay €1.5m if they reach the Champions League Round of 16 this season, plus another €1.5m if they qualify for next year’s Champions League campaign.

Chelsea paid €80m to purchase the goalkeeper from Athletic Bilbao in 2018, but have dropped him to the bench in favour of Edouard Mendy.

His contract still runs to June 2025, so they hope a loan experience at Napoli can help the 27-year-old regain his form and earn a transfer fee next summer.
