Keita Balde Diao missed Lazio training today – but it turns out he was delayed in Barcelona by a missed plane.
Eyebrows were raised when the forward didn’t train with the squad at Formello this morning, ahead of Sunday’s Derby della Capitale against Roma.
It was feared Keita had an injury or, given his sometimes tempestuous relationship with the Aquile, had gone AWOL as he did in the summer.
However, LazioNews has discovered that the 21-year-old was simply delayed after an authorised trip to Barcelona.

However, LazioNews has discovered that the 21-year-old was simply delayed after an authorised trip to Barcelona.
Keita was born in Arbucies in Catalonia, and was receiving an award from the Catalonian federation, something the Biancocelesti had given their blessing for.
However, the forward missed his flight back to Italy. Lazio were aware of the situation, and Keita has now flown back to Rome, to work alone at Formello this afternoon.
