Widespread reports in Italian media yesterday suggested the Nerazzurri were in advanced negotiations with the Ligue 1 club over the signing of the former Lazio man – with winger Candreva included as a make-weight in the deal.

However, Corriere dello Sport claims that will not happen after the 31-year-old revealed he is unwilling to join the French club.

But the Italian daily states that negoatiations between the clubs have continued anyway, with Balde still on course to arrive at San Siro.

Inter are now reportedly offering between €5m and €6m to take the Senegal international on an initial loan deal, with a fixed fee of €20m to sign him outright next summer.

The 23-year-old will be offered personal terms of €3m-a-season to move back to Serie A, just one year after leaving Lazio.
