Kean storms off after Juventus and VAR nightmare

Moise Kean can perhaps be forgiven for losing his temper and storming off down the tunnel after seeing two goals disallowed for Juventus against Verona.

The striker has not found the back of the net so far this season and twice thought he had broken that drought at the Allianz Juventus Stadium this evening.

The first was disallowed because a tiny sliver of his heel was offside, caught only by the semi-automatic offside technology that is used in Serie A.

He had shown off the dance he prepared with teammates Timothy Weah and Weston McKennie only for it to be cut short.

Then it happened again, this time following an on-field review for his foul on Marco Davide Faraoni.

Moments later, an understandably irritated Kean threw the ball away in anger after a free kick was given against him, earning a yellow card.

Seeing this, Max Allegri felt concerned that the accumulation of bad news would lead to a loss of temper and second booking, so replaced him with Federico Chiesa.

Kean was furious, repeatedly asking ‘Why? But why?’ as he stormed off straight down the tunnel.

Third-choice goalkeeper and locker room favourite Carlo Pinsoglio went down to the changing room to fetch Kean once he had cooled down and made sure he sat on the bench with his teammates.
