Juventus striker Moise Kean has denied reports he left the Italy camp because he was ‘not interested’ in the European Under-21 Championship, but questions remain.

The centre-forward was called up as part of a 29-man squad that will be whittled down to 23 for the tournament, which will be played in June and July in Georgia and Romania.

He left the ground on Wednesday and the wording around his departure was extremely suspicious, only mentioning he was “indisposed.”

With no signs of an injury, Tuttosport and others reported it was because Kean simply did not feel motivated to participate in the competition.

“Fake News,” wrote Kean on his Instagram Stories over a copy of that article. “Don’t start…”

However, if it had been an injury, then the Azzurri doctors would’ve pointed that out, or given some clue as to what caused Kean to leave so suddenly.

It is after all not the first time Kean has been subjected to disciplinary action by the Italy squad at Under-19 and Under-21 level.
