Rick Karsdorp has already left for the Netherlands after a brief return to the Italian capital as he prepares to exit Roma in January.

The 27-year-old Dutchman was publicly called out by coach Jose Mourinho earlier this month, who complained of his unprofessionalism and invited him to leave the Giallorossi in January. Karsdorp returned to Rome last week to meet with the club after his agent presented a document discussing a ‘psychological malaise’ following the relationship breakdown.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Karsdorp has now left the Italian capital again and returned to the Netherlands, where he’s awaiting a move away from Roma. His agent will meet with Tiago Pinto next week to start discussing the player’s options for January.

Multiple clubs are interested in picking up the 27-year-old in the winter window, from Feyenoord and Juventus to Fenerbahce and Istanbul Basaksehir, and for now the only certainty is that Karsdorp will leave Roma in January.
