Rick Karsdorp will have a tense meeting with coach Jose Mourinho ahead of Roma’s training retreat to Japan, reports detail.

The 27-year-old Dutch right back was accused of having an unprofessional attitude by the Portuguese coach earlier this month, and he was invited to leave the club in the upcoming January transfer window. Karsdorp was not called up for Roma’s final game before the World Cup break against Torino and links with Juventus began to emerge in the media.

As reported by Corriere dello Sport, Karsdorp was called up alongside his Roma teammates for a meeting today in Trigoria, ahead of their trip to Japan tomorrow. The 27-year-old will have a meeting with Mourinho to discuss his situation ahead of the training retreat.

Karsdorp is contracted to Roma until 2025 but a January departure now looks fairly likely following the incident, although things could be smoothed over in today’s meeting.

The Dutchman has scored one goal and provided 13 assists in 122 games for the Giallorossi.
