The agent of Udinese goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis says “no-one has ever called me” from Napoli but “we’d be very happy” if they did.

The Partenopei are looking to sign a goalkeeper this summer, as Pepe Reina is joining Milan on a free transfer.

However, they have already missed out on Bernd Leno, Rui Patricio, Mattia Perin and Andriy Lunin.

It’s thought Alex Meret is the top target now, but today there have been rumours that Karnezis is also in the frame.

“No-one has ever called me or Orestis to let us know about this operation,” Vasileios Panagiotakis said on Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“I hope it’s not just rumours, but as of now there’s been no contact between us. That said, we’d be very happy if the club called.

“It’s one of the biggest clubs in the world, and [Carlo] Ancelotti is one of the best Coaches out there.”

Karnezis spent last season on loan at Watford who, like Udinese, are owned by the Pozzo family.
