Bruno Skropeta, the agent of Yann Karamoh, shared his anger at the lack of punishment for Lazio fans who allegedly racially abused the Torino forward, calling it ‘unacceptable’.

Some Biancocelesti supporters allegedly shouted racist abuse and chants against Karamoh and his Torino teammate Wilfried Singo during their 1-0 win in Rome last weekend.

Controversially, the FIGC did not take action against Lazio, reporting that their representatives did not hear the abuse at the Stadio Olimpico.

Speaking to Tuttosport, Skropeta reflected on the incident involving Karamoh and shared his frustration with the lack of a response.

“What happened to Yann on Saturday is simply unacceptable and inconceivable. I am close to him, and I am really surprised that the authorities have not dealt with this matter yet.

“Racist chants are a disgrace, they must not happen for any reason, neither in Italy, nor anywhere in the world. Football is synonymous with sharing, this unequal treatment is not acceptable.”

The agent then touched on the support for his client and the FIGC’s failure to react.

“Toro has been close to him, these are things that hurt. His teammates have also stood by him, but it is up to the authorities to prevent these things.

“Yann has received so many messages of support and we are happy about that, it means the problem exists.

“The club is also naturally on Yann’s side. He has put this incident behind him and wants to return to top form, like before the injury.”

Racism in Italian football has been in the limelight recently after Inter striker Romelu Lukaku was racially abused by some Juventus fans in the first leg of their Coppa Italia semi-final clash earlier this month.

The response from the FIGC – initially upholding Lukaku’s one-game ban before it was later overturned by president Gabriele Gravina – sparked anger amongst onlookers, with many frustrated at the apparent lack of effort to deal with the problem.
