Kanye West is expected to be in attendance in San Siro when Inter host Atletico Madrid for the Champions League Round of 16 first leg on Tuesday evening.

The US-rapper has a strong connection with Nerazzurri supporters, as the club’s Curva Nord ultras were recently given credits on the songs ‘Stars’ and ‘Carnival’ from the album Vultures 1, which was created alongside fellow artist Ty Dolla Sign and was released on February 10.

West is a frequent visitor to the city of Milan, and also married his ex-wife Kim Kardashian in Italy back in 2014.

He will be one of around 80,000 supporters in the stands of the Giuseppe Meazza on Tuesday night, as the stadium is sold out for the Atletico match. There will also be a travelling cohort of around 3,000 Atleti supporters in attendance.

The Champions League knockout clash is set to be a profitable one for Inter, as the matchday revenue will amount to close to €9m across ticket sales, television rights and competition prize money according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

For comparison, Inter’s match against Benfica at the same stage of the Champions League in 2022-23 earned the club around €6.7m.
