Daichi Kamada has changed his mind regarding a new deal with Lazio and will leave on a free transfer, possibly heading over to Crystal Palace.

The 27-year-old Japanese midfielder joined the Biancocelesti on a free transfer last summer after his move to Milan collapsed, penning a one-year contract with a unilateral option for a further three years, which had a deadline of May 30th.

Kamada had looked on track to pen a new contract with Lazio, having found some success under Igor Tudor over the last few months, and his entourage arrived in the Italian capital recently to try and resolve things with president Claudio Lotito.

Calciomercato.com details how Kamada has ultimately decided not to sign a new contract with Lazio, changing his mind at the last minute, freeing him up to leave the club on a free transfer this summer.

Crystal Palace, under the guidance of his former Eintracht Frankfurt coach Oliver Glasner, are seriously interested in snapping him up in the coming weeks and have prepared a contract worth around €5m net per season.

  1. If this is true, I live close to Selhurst Park so I’ll make sure I will go to his debut match and hold up a big sign saying what a looser he is. Swapping Lazio for Palace is ludicrous and they don’t even play in Europe. Sad sad
