Former Milan star Kaka expects ‘a beautiful game’ in the Champions League final between Inter and Manchester City.

The Nerazzurri are working on the final touches ahead of their decisive European encounter with Pep Guardiola’s side at the Ataturk Stadium is Istanbul. Inter booked their spot in the final after beating rivals Milan in the semi-finals, whilst Manchester City flew past Real Madrid to take them to their second final in three years.

Serie A sent representatives to all three European cup finals this season but only Inter have the chance to find glory, with Fiorentina and Roma falling in the Conference League and Europa League respectively.

Speaking to Sky Sports Italia, Kaka first looked ahead to the Champions League final.

“It’s great to play matches like this, unfortunately there’s no Milan but Inter represent Italian football and to see the derby in the semi-final was great.”

He gave his predictions for the clash between Inter and Manchester City at the Ataturk Stadium.

“A match in which anything can happen. City are favourites, but we will see a beautiful game.”

Finally, Kaka was asked about Milan owner Gerry Cardinale’s decision to sack technical director Paolo Maldini, a move that’s caused uproar amongst supporters.

“I’m very sorry. I don’t know what happened, but Paolo is a talismanic figure and has helped Milan so much.”
