“It’s so wonderful to be here and seeing these fans is a unique feeling,” Kaka told Milan TV.
“I have very fond memories of facing Roma, above all the 2004 Scudetto winner. I’m happy to be back here to see the game with Roma.”
Kaka has been linked with a new role at the club after former teammates Leonardo, Maldini and Coach Gennaro Gattuso took on responsibilities.
“I think this Milan side can do well now that Paolo Maldini and Leonardo are in the club, then of course there’s Rino. They all have the Milan DNA.
“It’ll take some time, but we are on the right track.”
Notably, Elliott Management chief Gordon Singer and the other members of the new Milan Board of Directors are present for tonight’s home debut.
Over the summer, the club was effectively repossessed after Yonghong Li failed to keep up loan repayments.
