“Milan looked very good and it was a pleasure to play today,” he told Mediaset Premium at half-time.
“I am lacking a little bit of match fitness and we need to improve, but we have what it takes to do that. At the age of 31 I learned a lot, as now I can choose my passes better and make fewer mistakes.”
Ricky Kaka was handed the captain’s armband by Marco Amelia and played in the trequartista role behind Robinho and Alessandro Matri. The captain for Swiss side Chiasso was ex-Milan star Gianluca Zambrotta.
It took just seven minutes to make an impact, as Antonio Nocerino ran on to Kaka’s through ball to scuff a right-foot shot into the net.
Robinho should’ve made more of another Kaka pass before Matias Silvestre rose to nod in a corner.
Matri hit the woodwork with his header, then before the break Matri deflected Nocerino’s effort to set up a Robinho tap-in.
Kaka went off at half-time, but Milan added to their tally with Riccardo Saponara following up a parried Claveria effort.
