New Juventus signing Kaio Jorge has taken the Number 21 jersey because he is following in the footsteps of ‘great players like Andrea Pirlo, Paulo Dybala, Zinedine Zidane and Gonzalo Higuain.’

The 19-year-old Brazilian completed the transfer from Santos today for a reported €3m, although he had his medical over two weeks ago.

“I am very happy to be here, it has been my dream since childhood,” Kaio Jorge told Juventus TV.

“I expect to stay at Juve for a long time because it’s a great team, one of the biggest in Europe. I move around a lot on the field and have an eye for goal.”

He has chosen the Number 21 jersey for a very specific reason.

“It was worn by great players here: Pirlo, Dybala, Zidane and Higuain. So I hope to score many goals with this jersey too.

“My objective is to score and help my teammates as best I can and, if God wills it, win trophies like the Champions League.”

Kaio Jorge also took part in a quickfire quiz, in which he confessed he had a poster of new teammate Cristiano Ronaldo on his wall when growing up.

  1. Sorry but what rock have you been living under – Santos – other clubs were going to pay top $$ but Juve signed a pre contract since his ends in Dec – sorta bullied Santos to give him for cheap
