According to multiple reports in Italy, Brazilian starlet Kaio Jorge will move to Serie A, joining Juventus or Milan and snubbing a move to Benfica.

Sportitalia and La Gazzetta dello Sport report the Brazilian starlet has agreed personal terms with the Bianconeri and the Rossoneri while Benfica have made a formal offer to Santos, but the player is willing to move to Serie A.

The contract of the 19-year-old expires in December 2021, so he can already talk to other clubs ahead of a possible free move without his club’s consent.

Juventus informed Santos they have begun talks to sign the promising striker.

“Mr Rueda, we know that Kaio Jorge’s registration with Santos expires on December 31, so we inform you that we have begun negotiations according to article 18.3,” Juventus’ letter reads according to La Gazzetta dello Sport newspaper.

Such article, included in the FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players, states that “a club intending to conclude a contract with a professional must inform the player’s current club in writing before entering into negotiations with him. A professional shall only be free to conclude a contract with another club if his contract with his present club has expired or is due to expire within six months. Any breach of this provision shall be subject to appropriate sanctions.”

Juventus are unwilling to spend a penny to sign the 19-year-old striker who sees his contract expire in June, so they are planning to sign him as a free agent from January.

Milan have also reached an agreement with the player and could offer €3m-4m to Santos, hoping to finalise a deal before his contract with Santos expires. In contrast, Benfica have already reached an agreement with the Brazilian club, but Kaio Jorge is willing to move to Serie A, so, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, he will reject a transfer to Portugal.

According to the paper, the Bianconeri are in pole position to secure his services. As per UOL Esporte, the player has already signed a pre-contract agreement with Juventus and even the Rossoneri have little chance of signing him.
