Juventus are working with the Turin Digos to identify all the supporters who racially abused Inter striker Romelu Lukaku in the recent Derby d’Italia.

Racist abuse was directed at the Belgian forward on a number of occasions during Juventus’ 1-1 draw with Inter in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals on Tuesday – when he was initially booked, after he scored the penalty and when he was walking off the pitch following his sending off.

Lukaku was shown a second yellow card for a ‘provocative celebration’, a decision that has infuriated Inter fans and a number of onlookers. Many highlighted how the 29-year-old had done the same celebration whilst on international duty recently.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are working closely with the Turin Digos – the Division of General Investigations and Special Operations – to identify and punish the fans who racially abused Lukaku at the Allianz Stadium.

The stadium has around 115 CCTV cameras, which will give the club a lot of material to work with in their investigation. Those identified will be banned from attending matches, possibly for life.
