Although Massimiliano Allegri has achieved similar results to Andrea Pirlo, Juventus won’t sack the Tuscan tactician as, according to Tuttosport, the club’s management sees a development in the team and more discipline inside the dressing room.

Last season, the former Maestro won two trophies (Coppa Italia and Supercoppa) but missed out on Juventus’ tenth successive Scudetto and was eliminated in the Champions League Round of 16 at the hands of Porto.

Allegri is getting the same results as his predecessor, except for the Supercoppa, which he lost against Inter in January.

Juventus are currently in the race for the top four in Serie A and can qualify for the Coppa Italia final after beating Fiorentina in the first leg semi-final in Florence 1-0. The coaches’ paths have been the same on paper, but according to Tuttosport, Juventus’ directors and President Andrea Agnelli have noticed substantial differences between Pirlo and Allegri.

Juventus have gained consistent results in Serie A this term after a tough start to the season and the club’s executives are seeing a development that they hadn’t noticed last season under Pirlo.

The Serie A giants remained unbeaten for 16 games before their home loss to Inter two weeks ago and are the team that collected the most points so far in 2022. During the last campaign, Juventus had too many highs and lows, claim the report, with the Bianconeri never getting enough consistency.

Juventus also wanted to restore discipline inside the dressing room, something that they partially lacked last term. For all these reasons, the Bianconeri won’t sack the Tuscan tactician at the end of the campaign, even if he won’t get better results than his predecessor.

It may be worth adding that last summer, Allegri signed a €7m-a-year for the next four seasons, so sacking him would not exactly be the most sustainable option for the club.

  1. I can see there point. Pirlo was a great player, and knows the game very well; but he was probably too familiar with players and doesn’t have the personality to be a leader

  2. He needs to remember how to beat big teams. He beat one all season and none of the top three in Serie A.

  3. Why would they sack him months after he signed a 4 year contract ?
Juve’s objective with Allegri was clear: domestic success, i.e. winning the scudetto, and then try to compete in Europe again.
This is exactly what Allegri successfully achieved during his first period with Juve.
This now is a bigger challenge for him because he’s building a new team, but we’ve seen signs of improvement already in the last few months, and the real test is next season.

  4. Until management is sacked nothing will change, They blame Pirlo but hired him without ever being a coach in any league or division. They should answer for that. Not blame him and make excuses. They think throwing more money at the problem will solve it.

  5. The only reason why allergi not being sacked is the compensation. That’s a huge contract for negative-minded coach which the management really believe he will do miracle

The blame should go to juventus management for hired him despite the fact that other credible and reliable coaches are available such as zidane, deschamps, loew, even gasperini and ten hag

If he really believe in negative style of play then he should learn from emery, who is the master i think

  6. Yeah fantastic, for $9 Mil a season, boring football, no development, no success in Europe, that’s Allegri, on the hand, in only have season, with COVID-19, much better style play, $2 Mil a season, developing young player, much better result, yet he got sacked, that’s Pirlo. Well I’m afraid if Juve wont win the UEFA cup wont be considered a good team period.

  7. Ale, can’t agree more. The problem is the club not only allegri. Allegri is an example of a school of thought that is outdated. I am a lifelong Juventus fan, and I must admit. This is the worst team I have seen from the top down. Club management, coaching style to quality of players except for De Ligt.

  8. Please, everyone knows that Juve’s main problem is the management. What kind of management hire’s someone (Pirlo) with zero, I repeat 0 coaching experience and then expect them to build a fantastic team that can win trophies after only 1 season? And now you mention this stupidity about Juve management see’s differences between Allegri and Pirlo? Forgive me but Juve are run by a bunch of “CLOWNS”.

  9. This is very simple. Allegri has won at Milan and then he Won with us. For 3 years we were unstoppable. He then mentioned that he needed reinforcements in midfield and never got them, but the team still outperformed in his 4th year and if we would have knocked out Madrid in that painful night in Madrid, I think we would have gone all the way. His final year was also descent, but again he never got reinforcements he was asking for and the team started to crumble. Pirlo did pretty good with not much experience, but he is not a proven winner like Allegri. Therefore you cant even mention them in the same sentence. Juventus were building a team from players that were out of contracts and as we all can see that didnt work out so well. A team needs to be build to the managers style. You cant take the best ingredients and dump them into the soup and expect the soup to taste good.

  10. To those Juve fans that are hoping for Zizou you can forget about that pipe dream. PhD Max has bamboozled Super League Agnelli with that 4 year contract. Credit where credit is due, Feng Shui Max has out done himself this time and will pocket full pay even if he gets the boot and back to the Tuscan cave he goes sipping on fine wine. No money for Zidane so long as they are paying you know who.

  11. there are only two problems I have with Allegri. He depends too much on experience and ignored great young talents. The second is that he plays some boring football sometimes often leaving changes when it’s too late to make a difference!

  12. Pirlo is better than Allegri. He was a bit like Xavi, he just needed more time to gel
Those clown fired him and go backwards to Allegri. Shame, shame ,shame, shame
