What is even more surprising is that CR7 was not dropped because of an injury but because of a technical choice by Andrea Pirlo, who has picked Alvaro Morata and Paulo Dybala to start up front.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Ronaldo is tired and and Pirlo decided to drop him after the last training match played at the Continassa.

Ronaldo had started on the bench only once this season. It was at the beginning of November when he was returning from COVID.

He was thrown in in the second half and scored twice to secure a 4-1 win against Spezia.

Ronaldo was subbed off twice this season, both against Inter. The first one in a Coppa Italia semi-final tie, and the second time last week, when the Nerazzurri visited Juve at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus need a win in Bologna, hoping that Milan or Napoli fail to do the same against Atalanta and Hellas Verona respectively.
