Juventus are expected to accelerate for Atalanta star Teun Koopmeiners after the painful injury suffered by Fabio Miretti.

The 20-year-old Italian midfielder suffered a compound fracture in his right foot during a pre-season training session with the Old Lady, an injury that’s expected to keep him on the sidelines for at least 30 days, missing the start of the Serie A season.

Juventus are finally starting to move forward for Koopmeiners after months of interest and have submitted a €45m offer to Atalanta, which was rejected as a €60m price tag has been set in Bergamo, forcing the Old Lady to increase terms.

Juventus push for Koopmeiners

Page 15 of today’s Tuttosport underlines how Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli is expected to accelerate in talks with Atalanta to try and quickly reach a deal for Koopmeiners, wanting the Dutch midfielder in the squad by the start of the Serie A season following Miretti’s injury.

The 26-year-old is considered a priority for the Old Lady, which means the deal for OGC Nice defender Jean-Clair Todibo may be put on ice for the time being in order to allow a move for the Atalanta star.
