Juventus are waiting to hear the reasons why CONI’s Collegio di Garanzia temporarily annulled their point deduction before the next steps are taken in their capital gains case.
The Bianconeri’s appeal to CONI was partially successful last month, with the Collegio di Garanzia deciding to suspend their 15-point deduction ahead of a new trial. The FIGC Court penalised the club back in January for allegedly falsifying their capital gains through inflated player transfer values.
La Gazzetta dello Sport details how the next step is for CONI to explain why they decided to temporarily annul the penalty, something they technically have 30 days to do from April 19. The desire is to close the case before the end of this season, so the Collegio di Garanzia are expected to deliver their reasoning at some point this week.
Once this has happened, a third trial at the FIGC Court could be scheduled, which could be held later this month around May 22. Should Juventus lose that trial and appeal again, their penalty could be served next season instead.
The Old Lady are also keeping an eye on the Prisma investigation of the Turin Public Prosecutor’s Office, which relates to capital gains, secret player wage payments, and suspicious partnerships with agents and clubs.
