Sky Sport Italia claim Aston Villa have offered to take Italy international Nicolò Zaniolo on loan with option to buy, but Galatasaray and the player are unconvinced, as Juventus remain in the background.

Galatasaray named their squad for the opening game of the season today and it did not include Zaniolo, boosting reports of a potential exit.

According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the offer has been formalised from Aston Villa and it is €3m for the loan with his salary covered during this season.

There will also be an option to buy for €20m plus another €7m in add-ons.

Galatasaray have not yet given a response, even after Aston Villa manager Unai Emery confirmed Zaniolo was “on the list” of transfer targets.

It is rumoured that is because Zaniolo has never disguised his desire to play for Juventus and he will resist other alternatives unless they are truly prestigious.

Aston Villa challenging for a mid-table spot in the Premier League would not be enough to sway him.

There is a €35m release clause in his contract, so Galatasaray too are in no rush to sell for these figures.
