Here are the four things from Simone Inzaghi’s post-match press conference following Inter‘s 2-0 loss against Juventus in Turin.

The Nerazzurri lost their first game against Juventus under Inzaghi, despite an excellent performance in the first half.

Football Italia was among the accredited media at the Allianz Stadium and attended Inzaghi and Allegri’s post-match press conferences.

Inzaghi discussed Inter’s issues in away games and in big matches.

“Clearly, we played the most difficult games away, but we must improve. Juventus had three shots on target and scored twice. We had the best chances and didn’t score, so we must improve. This defeat slows us down and probably it’s not deserved, but this is football. Not having scored in the first half is a big regret.”

The former Lazio striker and coach was asked whether he still sees Inter involved in the title race.

“Obviously there are 25 games remaining. This defeat slows us down, but we must put this loss behind us. We must improve in big games, we must do more to gain better results, but the performance was there tonight.”

Were Inter too presumptuous in the second half, or just unlucky?

“Surely not presumptuous, but I don’t believe in bad luck. Some games we played in the Champions League were more difficult, but we managed to bring the game on our side. Tonight, we should have committed some fouls to stop Juventus’ counterattacks and avoid their goals.”

Is he worried by Inter’s lack of reaction when they concede?

“It had happened already and it should not. We stretched after their first goal, the team suffers too much after a negative incident. We hit the crossbar and conceded immediately after, the first goal affected us.”

After today’s win, Inter saw Juventus leapfrog them in the Serie A table. They are now 11 points below leaders Napoli and -3 from Atalanta in fourth position. This coming Wednesday, they play their last home game of the year against Bologna.
