Serie A kicks off at the Allianz Stadium on Friday this week and most Juventus vs. Empoli predictions will be favouring the home side. That’s despite a woeful start to the season for Juve, who remain off the pace at the top and have an anxious Max Allegri just about still in charge.

Juventus vs. Empoli odds

1 – Juventus to win – 4/9

2 – Over 2.5 goals scored – 4/5

3 – Dušan Vlahović to score first – 3/1

4 – Both teams not to score  – 3/4

5 – Juventus to win to nil – 5/4

Surely this is the week that Juventus finally manage to record back-to-back victories for the first time this season. The victory in the Derby della Mole was anything but convincing. But with that being pretty much par for the course this season, Max Allegri will be happy to take the three points and remain in his job.

It took another Dušan Vlahović goal to win at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino but the three points saw Juve remain down in eighth, a full ten points behind league leaders Napoli. Vlahović is one of the few bright sparks at the club at the moment – and he will probably be the best chance of opening the scoring on Friday too.

Allegri will be backing his side to finally rack up a big win that kick-starts the club’s season. With Federico Chiesa and Paul Pogba possibly returning in the next few weeks, some good luck for the Old Lady could not come at a more important time.

Empoli, on the other hand, will be hoping to continue a very satisfactory season that has seen the club remain in mid-table, without ever putting together a decent run of results. The Azzurri have only managed one win all season but have frustrated opponents throughout.

Asking Paolo Zanetti’s players to deepen the misery of their Juventus counterparts this week is probably going too far. Empoli will feel as though a defeat here is to be expected and to go again next weekend.

Only a few teams in the whole of Serie A have scored fewer goals than Empoli, so there should not be too much of an expectation for that to change at the Allianz Stadium. That’s why Juventus to win to nil looks like a good bet too.

Juventus team news

Max Allegri could have done without more injury problems but will have to do without Bremer for a few weeks now as well after he limped off against Torino. Leonardo Bonucci should come in as a replacement, even though he seems to have fallen out with the head coach. Milik could come in for Kean up front too.

Empoli team news

Paolo Zanetti should see no real need to change the starting eleven for this one from the one that triumphed over Monza last weekend. There may be some questions about who to start up front, as he has switched between Sam Lammers and Mattia Destro so far this season. But the veteran Destro played well against Monza and should start again on Friday.
