Carlos Alcaraz will join Juventus on an initial loan deal from Southampton, but he may land in Italy after the end of the winter transfer window to sort out his visa.

Southampton midfielder Alcaraz is on the verge of joining Juventus from Southampton as the two clubs have shaken hands on an initial loan transfer with an option to buy. The value of the transfer package is around €53m.

However, it is still uncertain that the 21-year-old will be in Turin before the end of the winter transfer window.

Sky Sport Italia’s correspondent in Turin, Giovanni Guardalà, has just said that Alcaraz won’t land in Italy before sorting out his visa. This means he could land in the Peninsula on Thursday or Friday, after signing his contract with the Bianconeri.

The summer transfer window in Serie A ends on Thursday, February 1 at 19:00 GMT.

La Gazzetta dello Sport had initially reported Alcaraz would land in Turin on Wednesday afternoon, but it’s unsure whether the Argentinean will fill out all the paperwork in time to be in Italy today.

Nevertheless, his move to Juventus is not in doubt as the midfielder is already undergoing his medical tests in London.
