Juventus transfer target Neres completes move to Benfica

David Neres, who had been a Juventus transfer target this summer, has completed a move to Benfica.

The Bianconeri are in the market for a new winger and while Angel Di Maria, who is a free agent after leaving Paris Saint-Germain, remains their top targets, they are struggling  to get the deal over the lines and alternative names appeared in the Italian media.

As well as Neres, there was Sassuolo‘s Italy international Domenico Berardi.

But the Brazil international will not be joining Juve as he is now a Benfica player.

The Portuguese giants confirmed he has signed a contract until 2027 as they post images of Neres alongside former Fiorentina and Milan midfielder Manuel Rui Costa, who is the club’s sporting director.

Neres was part of the Ajax side which reached the 2019 Champions League semi-final, knocking Juve out en route.

He joined Shakhtar Donetsk in January but Russia’s invasion of the Ukraine in February caused the deal to be cancelled.
