Bodycam footage is set to be tested in Serie A for the first time this weekend, with Juventus leading the way in their upcoming clash against reigning champions Napoli on Friday night.

The new bodycam feature will be tested as part of DAZN’s live matchday coverage.

One Juventus player will wear the camera during the warm-up at the Allianz Stadium to capture the action from the build-up from a brand-new perspective.

The same technology was also trialled during the warm-up of Wolves’ match against Tottenham in the Premier League in November. The system was also given a run-out during a pre-season friendly between Newcastle and Aston Villa.

The ultra-light cameras are fitted to the players’ GPS vests and poke through a small hole in the jersey.

The IFAB do not currently permit body cameras to be worn during competitive matches.

Juventus have shared footage to social media of Samuel Iling-Junior trying the bodycam out for the first time at one of Juve’s recent training sessions at Continassa.
