Juventus will meet with Paulo Dybala this month to discuss his contract renewal, and they’ve reportedly come up with a plan.

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward has been one of the Bianconeri’s more important players in recent years and this has not changed this season, with the player featuring whenever he is fit enough to do so. His current contract expires at the end of this season, but the club don’t want to end his time in Turin just yet.

As reported by Calciomercato.com, Juventus will meet with Dybala’s entourage later this month, possibly after the board meeting scheduled between February 23 to 25, where they’ll discuss his contract renewal, with a new plan in mind. Whilst they’ve changed tactics, this does not affect their salary offer to the player.

Dybala reportedly agreed a new contract with Juventus back in October, on the basis of a four-year deal worth €8m net per season plus €2m in add-ons, but pen was never put to paper. The Bianconeri are willing to offer a similar proposal again, although the add-ons may be tinkered with a little, but they are expecting compromises regarding his agent Jorge Antun’s commission.

Juventus want Dybala’s entourage to give up on around €4-5m in commissions, wanting to direct their funds directly to the player instead of his agents. This links back to CEO Maurizio Arrivabene’s cryptic statement back in December, when he said: “Some players are more attached to the agents than to the shirt.”

  1. Intetesting move by Juve. A welcome one also. Agents have too much power and make decisions based on how much they can earn rather than the players desire. Maybe this will set a trend…but then again maybe city or United will be willing to pay the agents fee….

Agent fees are cancer in football during the transfer windows. I agree, this should be up to the player, and not the agent to get the money

  3. yea definitely sounds like an interesting move by juve. would definitely test dybala loyalty too.

  4. Dybala is not worth the extra money as much as I think he is a talented player on his day. We are entering a new period and Vlahovic is going to be the main man. It would be better for us to save on the wages and reinvest in the midfield. If he wants more money he should go to England, as his agent can further line his pocket. As for the rumours about Inter, so be it but just remember he will never have it as good as he got it at Juve. We have been patient with his injuries, lack of goals and giving the ball away to Verona in a very dangerous position in that first half period. If he stays how can he justify wanting more money when his production has gone down.

  5. Football Manager 2022 tells me different @Uncle Z lol. But all fun aside, I believe la joya position tactically has been in jeopardy since the 4-3-3 “attacking wingers” became the staple of today’s football.

That and the period of stagnation when Ronaldo signed. Yes, one will say “but if he is that good he will adapt to whatever the coaches ask” but we all know dybala is not tactically flexible enough to do so, as talented as he is.

Mad Max for all is supposed deficiencies and pragmatism got the right signings to create a tactics / formation to allow dybala to flourish and by extension reverting everybody to their “natural” roles.

What would be interesting to see is if dybala stays, how will the formation / tactical setup look when chiesa returns next season… food for thought.

  6. They should Try to Do this to Mino Raiola Also During Negociation…. He is Getting Too Fat With Comission Money From Hard Working Players…

  7. Grande Juve – Once when Thuram didn’t want to play as a wing-back Buffon told him it’s the club that will make him a champion and not the other way around. ALL players must understand this as fact.

  8. The agents have too much power that could change the power of any team.
Karl Marx was right to say man’s production is stolen by the capitalist, in this case the player’s agent.
Both FIFA EUFA should do something to balance this situation.

  9. Interesting move.

Anyway, to FI staff: is this site using React? How difficult for you to store your visitors’ preference inside localStorage or cookie or something like that? I would like to prevent your annoying popup video from appearing.

  10. The agents get paid 4 million? Unbelievable. What parasites they are. The blight of the game,
I think it is a fair deal. Dybala can get what salary he was promised but the scumbag agents have to talk to him about their pay. If Dybala doesn’t like that, then he can leave,

  11. @Chris: Why are you so surprised? At least Dybala is getting some minutes.

Ramsey`s agents are being payed 3M Euro/year, every year, by Juventus.

Actually Juventus are the club that is paying the biggest fees to agents in the entire Italy!
