Juventus coach Thiago Motta admitted that he will be keeping an eye on his former side Bologna and their game against Liverpool in the Champions League, but insists that his full focus will be on the Bianconeri and their match away against RB Leipzig.

Both Bologna and Juventus are in Champions League action on Wednesday night, both playing away, against Liverpool and RB Leipzig respectively. Both matches are scheduled to kick off at 20.00 BST.

Motta helped steer the Rossoblu to a fifth place finish in Serie A last season, which was enough to qualify for this year’s expanded edition of the Champions League. He then left at the end of the campaign to replace Manchester United-linked Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus.

Thiago Motta: I hope Bologna win, but I’m only focused on Juventus’

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of RB Leipzig-Juve on Tuesday, the Bianconeri coach admitted that he is hoping for the best for his former team.

“I hope Bologna win, but I’m only focused on Juve,” Motta told the press.

“We have a big match and we have to be at our best. We have to perform well to get the best result.”
