According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are interested in Monza left-back Carlos Augusto, who could replace Alex Sandro in 2023-24.
The Monza defender has been one of the most surprising players in Serie A this season, with four goals and three assists in 20 league games.
According to Gazzetta, Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is a long-time admirer of the 24-year-old who impressed the Italian tactician even in 2020-21 when Allegri watched him in action in Serie B with the Brianzoli.
Sassuolo’s Davide Frattesi was also part of that team and it’s no coincidence that the Italian midfielder is also on Juventus’ agenda.
Carlos Augusto is one of Juventus’ options to replace Alex Sandro, whose contract in Turin expires in June.
The Brazilian defender has a clause to extend his contract by one more year if he makes 40 appearances this season, but both he and the club are reportedly willing to part ways in the summer.
According to Gazzetta, Carlos Augusto is not the only Juventus target for next season, given that Alex Grimaldo has also been monitored by the club, not to mention Andrea Cambiaso’s return from his loan at Bologna in the summer.
