Juventus midfielder Joseph Nonge takes ‘full responsibility’ for causing a penalty kick against Napoli last night and thanks Bianconeri fans and teammates for their ‘support.’

The 18-year-old Belgian midfielder was introduced as a substitute at minute 76 of Juventus’ away game at Napoli on Sunday but fouled Victor Osimhen minutes after the Old Lady’s equaliser. The Nigerian missed the spot kick, but Giacomo Raspadori scored on the rebound.

Eyebrows were raised when Massimiliano Allegri took off Nonge at minute 90, introducing Danilo.

Nonge apologised to Juventus fans and teammates on Instagram on Monday morning.

“I made a mistake I take full responsibility sorry to my teammates and the supporters, thank you for your support, time to reset and stay focused on the end of the season,” wrote the Juventus midfielder.

The 18-year-old had made his Serie A debut in January in an away 2-1 victory over Salernitana. He has only made four appearances at a senior level with Juventus.

Nonge has one goal and one assist in 11 appearances across all competitions with Juventus NextGen, the Bianconeri’s second team playing in Italy’s Serie C.

Nonge joined the Juventus Youth Sector from Anderlecht U18 in 2021.
