Juventus are said to be interested in Raul Jimenez, with help from Jorge Mendes, but baulked at the €50m Wolverhampton Wanderers asking price.

They are seeking a new forward to replace Gonzalo Higuain, with Napoli demanding €40m for first choice Arkadiusz Milik.

According to Calciomercato.com, agent Mendes – who also represents Cristiano Ronaldo and is very involved with Wolves – is hoping to orchestrate the transfer for Jimenez to Juventus.

According to Calciomercato.com, agent Mendes – who also represents Cristiano Ronaldo and is very involved with Wolves – is hoping to orchestrate the transfer for Jimenez to Juventus.

However, the Premier League club is asking for €50-60m cash, without any player exchanges, and Juve consider that to be a totally outlandish request.

Mexico international Jimenez just turned 29 last month and Wolves bought him from Benfica for €41m, initially on loan and then permanently last summer.

His 22 goals and 10 assists in 44 competitive games this season impressed, but at his age and with so little experience at the top level, certainly not enough to warrant that kind of price-tag.

Juventus were aiming to get him on loan with an obligation to buy, perhaps with player exchanges, seeing Jimenez as a cheaper alternative to Milik rather than a more expensive one.
