Juventus do not want to be without Manuel Locatelli for the coming Derby d’Italia, so may give the midfielder a shock jacket to face Inter.

The 25-year-old was forced to withdraw from the Italy squad last week after tests confirmed that he’d suffered a dislocated micro-fracture in his rib. He returned to Turin to immediately begin working on his recovery, keeping an eye on the fast-approaching Derby d’Italia.

Juventus sit just two points behind Inter at the top of the Serie A table, making the coming clash key for determining the next stages of the title race. When they met last season, the Bianconeri won both league clashes but drew once and lost once in the Coppa Italia semi-finals.

As reported by Tuttosport via Calciomercato.com, the Juventus medical staff are working hard to ensure Locatelli will be available for the Derby d’Italia and have drawn up a plan to see him on the pitch.

He’ll undergo a new round of tests over the next 48 hours and if everything looks positive, then the club will create a protective shock jacket that the midfielder can wear under his shirt against Inter. This would cushion any contact or blows, allowing the 25-year-old to relax and focus on the football.
