Sky Sport Italia claim Juventus are stepping up discussions with Chelsea over the possibility of taking Timo Werner on loan, but Alvaro Morata remains the preferred option.

The Bianconeri are seeking a striker who can work both with Dusan Vlahovic and as a potential replacement for him as centre-forward.

Morata is the ideal, especially for his work-rate and already knowing Juve and Max Allegri’s tactics so well.

However, Atletico Madrid are refusing to lower the €20m asking price to make his move permanent after a two-season loan, especially as the original option to buy was for €35m.

This is leading Juventus to investigate other avenues, such as Werner, as Fabrizio Romano reports this evening that negotiations are progressing with Chelsea for the Werner loan.

The German international has a very tense rapport with manager Thomas Tuchel and has dropped several hints about wanting to move elsewhere.

Although he is an option, Juventus would not want to pay his full salary and a fee for the loan when he would not be a first-choice player in Turin.

A bizarre idea emerged this evening of bringing Cristiano Ronaldo back, as he has asked Manchester United to release him on loan so he can play in the Champions League.

  1. not going to happen. Too expensive, and too high salary. Furthermore, a huge number of goals in Leipzig came from the penalty spot. Overrated player

  2. Best option is bringing back Morata.
    1) He’s versatile, can play both as striker and winger.
    2) He always puts in a lot of work.
    3) He knows Allegris tactics.
    4) He allready has and ok partnership with Vlahovic.
