Southampton have opened talks with Juventus for Matias Soulé and according to Tuttosport, the Argentinean could move to England at the end of the season as part of the deal that will bring Carlos Alcaraz to Turin on a permanent transfer.

Alcaraz has joined Juventus on a paid loan deal until the end of the season and the Serie A giants have an option to make the Argentinean midfielder’s move permanent in the summer for €49.5m.

According to Tuttosport, however, it is unlikely that the Old Lady will pay the entire sum at the end of the season, so Soulé could join Southampton in June.

The English Championship side are long-time admirers of the Argentinean winger, currently on loan at Frosinone, where he has netted nine goals in 20 Serie A matches.

According to the report, Southampton opened talks for Soulé in January and remain interested in the Argentinean for 2024-25.

Juventus value Soulé at €30-35m, so a transfer to Southampton for a similar fee would allow the Bianconeri to get Alcaraz on a permanent deal at the end of the current campaign.
