Juventus starlet Hans Nicolussi Caviglia says USMNT international Timothy Weah ‘always sings’ and reveals his role models, including Frenkie de Jong, Kevin de Bruyne and Paul Pogba.

Nicolussi Caviglia has released two interviews with Juventus’ Twitch channel and Tuttosport newspaper.

The 23-year-old has returned to Turin after a six-month loan at Salernitana but has yet to make his first appearance with the Bianconeri this season. He was on the bench during Sunday’s win over Empoli and helped Max Allegri’s assistant Marco Landucci translate his tactical recommendations to Weah who was ready to come off the bench in the second half.

“It was funny, Weah was ready to be introduced and Landucci asked me to help him with instructions. Let’s say I can handle French and English,” Nicolussi told Tuttosport.

“I saw the team well, especially because Empoli have strong players up front, they could cause trouble for us. We handled the game well.”

The Italian midfielder seems to have built a solid bond with Weah also because of their passions off the pitch. They both love music and Nicolussi even plays the piano.

“I have to say that Weah sings quite well,” he admitted. “Most importantly, Weah always sings, even when he’s alone.”

Nicolussi picked the No.41 for 2023-24 and explained his decision during the interview with the club’s official Twitch channel.

“The No.14 belonged to Cruijff, but I had the No.41 when I made my senior debut. My sister was also born on the 14, so there are many reasons why I appreciate these two numbers,” he said.

However, Dutch legend Cruijff is not his only idol.

“My role models are De Jong and Joshua Kimmich, but De Bruyne is the most complete midfielder. I also watch Pogba during training sessions and he’s a joy for the eyes. I watched him play when I was a ballboy and when you work with him on the pitch, you understand he belongs to a different category.

“I’ve been here since 2008 and I’ve learned many things with time. I lived historical moments such as the unveiling of the Stadium and the J College, it’s important to let the new guys understand where they are and accompany them on this journey.”
