Federico Chiesa is finally completing his recovery and could join the Juventus squad for their upcoming match against Empoli.
The 24-year-old Italian winger suffered a cruciate ligament rupture during a 4-3 win over Roma back in January, a serious injury that required surgical intervention. Chiesa has been stuck on the sidelines ever since, slowly working towards fitness with physiotherapists and coaches at the Juventus training centre.
As reported by Gianluca Di Marzio, Chiesa responded well in the friendly match against the Juventus Under-17 side and has shown positive signs in squad training.
Massimiliano Allegri will now have to decide whether to include him in the Bianconeri squad for their next match against Empoli on Friday October 21. Even if he is included, it’s likely that he’d only receive a handful of minutes off the bench, with the club keen to avoid any complications.
The return of Chiesa will give Allegri and Juventus a key attacking boost, needed after their sluggish start to the season.
dont risk it, we should beat empoli without him
chiesa needs to be play with primavera, training matches and slowly get reintroduced to first team
PhD Max will be looking forward to restarting what he has not finished. That is to ruin him and turn him into a fine holding midfielder.
LMAO!! Your comments always make me laugh Lord Allegri!! Anyhow we should not risk him yet and I do agree with Ash1329.
Ease him in gradually yes of course but you guys following this club? October was always his likely return to play. Now he’s training, responding well. All signs are pointing to recovery so I hope to see him against empoli for a few minutes. The team kinda needs it.
