Juventus will not provide an official statement regarding Paul Pogba’s four year ban for doping charges on Thursday, Football Italia understands.

Pogba was officially handed a four-year suspension by the anti-doping tribunal in Italy on Thursday morning. He had failed a doping test following the 3-0 victory over Udinese at the beginning of the 2023-24 Serie A season in August.

Despite the news breaking on Thursday, Juventus will not make a public comment on the matter before the end of the day.

One of the most recent updates from the club on the topic of Pogba came courtesy of sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli in December, who said that the club will “wait for the final level of the ruling before discussing it with his entourage. We will wait.”

Recent reports suggest that Juventus are able to terminate Pogba’s contract due to the length of his suspension being longer than six months.

The club will, however, take their time to evaluate their best course of action. It is understood that Juventus will speak to Pogba’s entourage before reaching their decision, which could be decided upon after the end of the current season, or perhaps even in June.

Pogba Will launch an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne in an attempt to reduce the length of his ban.
