Juventus have decided to focus on winning the Europa League this season as they look to find a way back to the Champions League.

The Bianconeri looked set to qualify for next season’s Champions League after recovering from a slow start to the season, but everything changed last month after the FIGC court decided to hand the club a 15-point penalty for allegedly falsifying their capital gains.

The deduction leaves Juventus 9th in the Serie A table, 12 points behind top four candidates Atalanta, Roma and Milan.

As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus and their squad are aware that the Europa League is within reach this season and would give them a route back into the Champions League, pending further rulings. As such, they’ve decided to seriously aim for the title.

The Turin outfit are preparing for their play-off round clash against FC Nantes. Winning this would take them to the Round of 16, where they’d find teams like Arsenal, Feyenoord, Real Sociedad and Fenerbahce.
