There are increasingly negative reports around the idea of seeing Angel Di Maria in a Juventus jersey, as the club has set a deadline of 24 hours for his reply amid Barcelona interest.

The Argentina international is a free agent, as his contract with Paris Saint-Germain will expire on June 30.

Now 34 years old, he can play on the right or left wing of an attacking trident, or in a trequartista supporting role for the centre-forward.

It had been considered practically a done deal for Di Maria to Juventus, but Goal.com reporter Romeo Agresti, the Gazzetta dello Sport and more warn the situation is deteriorating rapidly.

Juventus are seemingly irritated at being made to wait for his answer while he asked around for other proposals, specifically Barcelona.

They are not prepared to keep this going much longer and have sent a warning to Di Maria that he needs to give them an answer within 24 hours or they will move on to different targets.

Di Maria scored five goals and provided nine assists in 31 competitive appearances for PSG this season.
