The agreement was reached for a total of €18m some time ago, but Monza goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio will finally have his Juventus medical on Friday.

The shot-stopper was a primary target for new coach Thiago Motta and director of sport Cristiano Giuntoli, so they worked early on the deal and clinched it before the season was over.

It is expected to be a loan for €4m with obligation to buy at the end of the season for a further €14m, taking the grand total cost of the operation to circa €18m.

Di Gregorio arriving for Juventus

Multiple sources including Sky Sport Italia, La Gazzetta dello Sport and more all report that the date has been set for the medical at the Continassa training camp near Turin on Friday July 5.

Because Thiago Motta sees the goalkeeper in a very different way to predecessor Max Allegri, he is also bringing in his own staff for this role.

Claudio Filippi has instead moved to working with the youth academy after 10 years in the first team, replaced by Alfred Yovo and Iago Lozano.
