Juventus have secured teenage Norwegian talent Elias Solberg after it’s reported they told him he could follow in the footsteps of Erling-Braut Haaland.

Solberg plays on the right side of midfield and is a product of the Ullensaker/Kisa academy.

“We will get on the plane on Thursday, then there will be a medical,” his father Espen Solberg told vg.no.

“He is 100 per cent ready for this. It will be very exciting and he’ll be allowed to mature in peace and quiet, so it suits him perfectly.”

His agent Atta Aneke also spoke to the Norwegian site.

“There was interest from other major international clubs. We chose Juventus because of the facilities and the environment. They also have an Under-23 team that plays in Serie C, where he can play regularly.”

According to Arilas Ould-Saada, the deal is worth €0.4m.

The reporter maintains Milan had also been interested and Solberg met with director Paolo Maldini.

However, Juve convinced him by explaining they had missed out on signing Haaland when the Norway international was 17 and didn’t want to make the same mistake with Solberg.

The Bianconeri’s interest in Solberg stretches back to at least March 2021.

He has made 16 appearances in the OBOS-ligaen – the Norwegian second division – scoring three goals and providing two assists.

Solberg can also play in a more central midfield role when required.
