Reports from France suggest that Juventus have sent a scout to follow Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana for this international break.

The Bianconeri are planning to pick up a new midfielder in the January transfer window after the betting ban handed to Nicolo Fagioli and doping case involving Paul Pogba, situations that have limited Massimiliano Allegri’s options in the centre of the pitch.

Juventus are currently neck and neck with Inter in the Serie A title race, sitting just two points behind their rivals ahead of the coming Derby d’Italia. With no European commitments this term, many have tipped Allegri’s side to win the title.

As reported by RMC Sport via Calciomercato.com, one midfielder that Juventus director Cristiano Giuntoli has been following for some time is Monaco’s Fofana, who has been called up by Didier Deschamps for France’s Euro 2024 qualifiers against Gibraltar and Greece.

The 24-year-old will likely see some minutes across these two games, so Juventus, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United have all sent scouts to follow his work closely.

Fofana is contracted to Monaco until June 2025 and the Bianconeri could try to launch a move for the €25m-valued midfielder in January.
