Juventus’ Rugani to snub Galatasaray in bid for Serie A stay – report

Daniele Rugani is reportedly unconvinced about a move to Galatasaray as he looks to stay in Italy, putting Empoli, Sampdoria and Hellas Verona on high alert.

The 28-year-old Italian is no longer in Massimiliano Allegri’s plans in Turin as the club look to pick up a new defender, so they’ve been looking to find a suitable home for the centre back in recent weeks. Various clubs have come forward in Serie A, looking for loan deals, but things got interesting when Galatasaray emerged with a definitive offer.

As reported by TMW, although the Galatasaray option is satisfactory on a financial level for both Rugani and Juventus, the player has personal and familial concerns about a move to Turkey, so he’d prefer to stay in Serie A.

Empoli, Sampdoria and Hellas Verona are all keen on making loan moves for the 28-year-old and the Ligurians are planning to make another approach soon to try and edge out a deal. All three clubs would require Juventus to contribute to the defender’s salary, however, as he currently earns over €3m net per season.
