Roma star Paulo Dybala will be hoping to make Juventus regret their behaviour as he looks to spoil the show at the Allianz Stadium this evening, details Apollo Heyes.

The 28-year-old Argentinian forward spent the last seven years of his career in Turin, becoming a star in black and white as he proved his qualities in the North West of Italy. During his time with Juventus, Dybala scored 115 goals and provided 48 assists in 293 appearances, often being the team’s brightest spark moving forward.

When Dybala started last season with Juventus, he expected to sign a new deal with the club, extending his stay for the foreseeable future. In October 2021, Bianconeri director Federico Cherubini agreed to a new deal for the Argentinian forward, a five-year contract worth €7m net per season plus €2m in add-ons. Crucially, despite the agreement, pen wasn’t put to paper.

Juventus ultimately reneged on the deal, deciding not to retain Dybala after all. CEO Maurizio Arrivabene hinted at this in January of this year, noting that “whoever wears our No.10 must realise the weight that this number has for us”, suggesting that the club weren’t happy with Dybala’s offerings on the pitch.

Now the 28-year-old will be hoping to show Juventus what they’re missing; he signed a three-year deal with Roma last month and has started life well in the Italian capital, although he’s still not found his debut goal yet. There’s no better place for Dybala to open his account than Turin, his former hunting ground, and tonight’s clash will certainly prove emotionally charged for the star.
